Welcome!
My name is Julie King and my journey began in 2016 when my daughter, who has a great talent for drawing, inspired me to pick up my coloured pencils again after not really touching them since I left school, many years ago!

In my spare time, with renewed enthusiasm, I drew anything and everything but found my love for animals shone through. I am a self-taught artist so I drew many of my friends and family’s dogs for practice and built up quite a portfolio. In April 2016 I decided to set up this website and a Facebook page to see if anyone would be interested in commissioning me to draw their pets. As time went on and word spread I found there were just not enough hours in the day to keep up with the demand and continue with my job. A combination of positive feedback and encouragement from a good friend inspired me to consider becoming a full-time artist.

So, after discussion with my family, I left my job to work on my drawing full time. I set up a studio in my conservatory, where my 2 Golden Retrievers come to keep me company while I’m working. My two girls, Phoebe and Nessa (pictured here) are never far away .
I am having the time of my life creating art for other people to enjoy.
